Born on one of the archipelagic islands in one of the best countries in the world and parent to two beautiful children who are my gifts. Writing short pieces is more than just a form of expression but has been part of my sheer survival. The ability to articulate on paper what largely could not be shared then with another human being is therapeutic for in doing so it created hope, put things into perspective and even helped to prophesy things which were to come to pass in the author's life.

The writings encapsulate the vulnerability, frustrations, anger, irregularities and resulting pain and hope of the author's emotions while still concealing, even from the author, intricate details of each situation that gave birth to each writing.

The investment in publishing is an investment in pain with the hope that someone somewhere would be able to decode the writing and translate it into the same hope the author has found. Being such a private individual, it has taken considerable deliberation to release writings from my soul and Robert Frost says "No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader." Need I say more than this?

This book is the result of many years wading through myths about health and identifying the link between nutrition and health. Some of these myths have been diversions created by 'science'. Hypocrates, know as the father of modern medicine, said 'Let food be thy medicine'. One of the first things he asked a patient was what they had been eating. How many medical practitioners ask that these days?

It's the source of our food that is important. The book provides historical evidence to support this and points out that organic is not necessarily nutritionally more dense.

The book points out how some science, faulty for whatever reason, has led us astray.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has not been able to find a single disease that is not linked to nutrition. However, the author points out two other factors that come a close equal second.
Cancer has touched everyone's life in one way or another. This story tells how the author survived the first year after her husband's death, as she goes through many of the stages of bereavement; from denial and guilt to acceptance. Honest, day to day, week to week recounting of her personal struggles, reflections on their marriage, her husband's seven month battle with pancreatic cancer and how she was able to care for him during his illness. She tells this story with poignancy, truth and honesty as seen through the eyes of a grieving, new widow. In the end, her message is uplifting: although the grief and sadness is sometimes overwhelming, healing will take place. There is a "New Normal." This story is meant to inspire, teach and bring a sense of hope and realization that life can and will go on.
