Märchen
Das Märchen ist eine narrative Ausnahmeerscheinung, die einerseits in den archaischen Bildern der oralen Tradition wurzelt, andererseits eine bis in die Jetztzeit weltweit präsente Form des Erzählens und/oder der Literatur darstellt. Widerstandsfähig, aber nicht unsensibel gegenüber gesellschaftlichen Wandlungsprozessen, ist das Märchen ein «Klassiker des Deutschunterrichts». Gerade in jüngster Zeit, wo mediale Adaptionen vielfach auf Märchenmotive zurückgreifen und diese sowohl inhaltlich als auch qua Medium verändern, stellt sich zunehmend die Frage nach adäquaten didaktischen Zugängen. Das Heft betrachtet die zeitgenössische Miteinbeziehung von Märchenmotiven oder märchenhaften Versatzstücken in Film und Serie, Graphic Novels und Videospiele vor dem Hintergrund didaktischer Überlegungen. Darüber hinaus wird auch die kulturelle Dimension dieser literarischen Gattung berücksichtigt, indem auch Arabistik, Slawistik und Romanistik einen komparatistischen Blick auf die Inhalte und Erzähltraditionen werfen.

Language Prescription
This book is a detailed examination of social connections to language evaluation with a specific focus on the values associated with both prescriptivism and descriptivism. The chapters, written by authors from many different linguistic and national backgrounds, use a variety of approaches and methods to discuss values in linguistic prescriptivism. In particular, the chapters break down the traditional binary approaches that characterize prescriptive discourse to create a view of the complex phenomena associated with prescriptivism and the values of those who practice it. Most importantly, this volume continues serious academic conversations about prescriptivism and lays the foundation for continued exploration.
