Liebe Leserin, lieber Leser! Wir grüßen gar herzlich in den Mai, der ja ziemlich winterlich begonnen hat, um nun hoffentlich – zumindest was die Temperaturen betrifft – wonniglicher zu werden. Doch die Wünsche und Vorhersagen, da sind wir nach fast eineinhalb Jahren in der uns alle immer noch belastenden Pandemie nun fast schon «eingeübt», stimmen nicht immer mit der schließlich eintreffenden Wirklichkeit überein … Losgelöst von allen Vorhersagen, gute Wünsche zu runden Geburtstagen lassen sich im Mai in jedem Fall formulieren, denn nebst dem Denkerpoeten Christian Morgenstern, der am 6. Mai seinen 150. Geburtstag gefeiert hätte, steht auch bei Joseph Beuys der 100. Jubeltag am 12. Mai an. «Jeder Mensch ist ein Künstler» – dieser Satz und sein Ansatz der «Sozialen Plastik» haben die Kunstbetrachtung verändert und auch den Blick auf die Verantwortung und Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten der Gesellschaft in Bewegung gebracht. Auch für den Künstler und Designer Gerhard Bär verbinden sich Kunst und soziales Engagement, Kreativität und Umweltschutz und so schuf er mit «social plastics» eine Initiative, die nicht nur Plastikmüll in Kunstwerke verwandelt, sondern zugleich auch Menschen Perspektiven und Bewusstsein im Umgang und der Vermeidung mit Müll geben soll. Apropos Menschen: Wir alle sind momentan in noch stärkerem Maße auf digitale Möglichkeiten der Kommunikation angewiesen und in den meisten Bereichen der Arbeitswelt sind Computer und auch Roboter nicht mehr wegzudenken und durchaus hilfreich und überaus sinnvoll. Doch: «Es gibt Dinge, die eine Maschine nicht kann, nämlich jemanden gern zu haben. Die Liebe ist die Fähigkeit des Menschen.» Mit diesem Satz des Medienpädagogen und Mathematikers Edwin Hübner, mit dem wir ein interessantes und intensives Gespräch über Künstliche Intelligenz und Biotechnologie führen konnten, grüßen wir liebend in den (Wonne)Monat!
