      A jungle is land covered with dense vegetation dominated by trees.

      The word jungle originates from the Sanskrit word jangala, meaning uncultivated land.

      Jungles are mostly in warm places that have lots of rain, all the better for those plants to grow.

      TIGER

      Tigers are the largest wild cats in the world. Its most recognisable feature is a pattern of dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with a lighter underside.

      Tigers are good swimmers and can swim up to 6 kilometres. Every tiger in the world is unique - no two tigers have the same pattern of stripes.

      Jaguars are the biggest cats in the Americas. Their jaws are stronger than any other species of cat. They live in the wild for 11-15 years.

      Jaguar

      Jaguars love to swim in lakes and rivers. Jaguars will dip their tails into the water to lure fish, much like a fishing line.

      Tapir

      Tapirs are related to horses and rhinos. Tapirs weigh between 500 and 700 pounds. They can live 30 years or more.

      Tapirs can spend few minutes under the water. They use their snout as a snorkel.

      Capybara

      The capybara is the largest of all living rodents. Capybaras are physically well-adapted to a semi-aquatic lifestyle.

      Capybaras are able to sleep underwater. They keep just their noses above water so they can breathe.

      Cougar

      The cougar is a large cat that is native to the Americas. Cougars hunt primarily from dusk till dawn. Their primary prey is deer
