      Существенную помощь в работах на Новой Земле оказали курсанты Гидрографического факультета ВВМУ им. М. В. Фрунзе, помогая командирам катеров, прорабам геодезических и топографических групп в выполнении заданий и в то же время получая хорошую стажировку по специальности и морской практике.

      Результаты работ на западном побережье архипелага Новая Земля в 1951—1956 годах:

      – архипелаг впервые был привязан к Единой государственной геодезической сети СССР, проложено около 5 000 км геодезических сетей триангуляции II, III и IV классов, измерено 1 067 геод. пунктов, включая 4 астропункта;
