Сашка Торопцев, ученик восьмого курса Исторического лицея вместо тягомотной лекции о жизни «солнца русской поэзии» в Москве отправляется на настоящий многочасовой квест в новый Исторический парк. Прелесть этого парка состояла в том, что всё в нём было «по-настоящему». «Слои эпох» тут «переключались» как телеканалы и были виртуально воссозданы все дома XIX века. А заселили их такими же виртуальными «людьми». Сначала это были обычные персонажи-программы, но потом, и это было большой неожиданностью для создателей парка, благодаря возможностям разработок искусственного интеллекта, «персонажи» вдруг обрели нечто подобное «сознанию». Отныне они жили полноценной жизнью и «не знали», что за ними наблюдают. Участники экскурсии собирались посетить один из вечеров 1826 года в доме Василия Львовича Пушкина. Но что-то пошло не так. Окруженный симулированными домами и людьми, выйдя «на минуточку» во двор, Сашка понял, что уже не может найти дорогу обратно…
