We live amidst the largest mass migration in human history. God has chosen to use the Church, the Body of Christ, to be the instrument of Christ’s healing and restorative love in the world. The restorative and healing work of Christ can be accomplished when each Christian is moved by compassion to see and love the neighbor. Who is My Neighbor? puts a human face on a politically charged issue: refugees. It tells stories about refugees to challenge us all to reconsider our definition of “neighbor.”

    What Is Evangelism?

    Patricia M. Lyons

    • An engaging, entertaining, faithful and contagious Episcopal vision for sharing the Christian faith. • Taps into the Episcopal Church's priorities and "The Way of Love " Readers will find in this book a strong and uplifting argument that the Episcopal Church’s theology, sacramental ministry, and commitment to social justice have an essential role to play in mainline Christianity and in the public square. This book will help readers to understand that what it means to be an Episcopalian and how evangelism is a fruit of that identity, not a mere marketing strategy or an end in itself. This book is an approachable and inspiring presentation of the theological rationale and resource for sharing the faith as well as an argument that sharing the faith increases our own.
It addresses basic questions that are buzzing in the church today and lays out a series of stories from faith communities across the Episcopal Church, both physical and digital ministries.

    Duty to the Crown

    The Hebridean Way

    Richard Barrett

Officially launched in 2017, the Hebridean Way offers walkers the opportunity to experience the magic of Scotland's Outer Hebrides in one inspirational journey. The waymarked route stretches 247km (155 miles) from Vatersay to Stornaway, linking ten major islands of the archipelago by means of causeways and two ferry crossings: Vatersay, Barra, Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula, Grimsay, North Uist, Berneray, Harris and Lewis. Suitable for most walkers with a moderate level of fitness, it can be completed in 8-14 days and is rich in natural, historical and cultural interest.
This guidebook presents the Hebridean Way in 10 stages of 16-35km (10-22 miles), plus two additional stages to extend the route to the Butt of Lewis in line with future plans. Detailed route description is accompanied by 1:50,000 OS mapping, stunning photography to whet your appetite and a wealth of information about local points of interest. The introduction offers an overview of the islands' geology, history, plants and wildlife as well as comprehensive practical advice for walking the route, such as when to go, how to get there (and back) and what to take. Accommodation listings can be found in the appendices.
The route is a celebration of the diverse landscapes of the Hebrides, from dazzling white shell beaches to wild moorland and flower-strewn machair. It visits Neolithic and Bronze Age remains, ruined forts and castles and monuments commemorating Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Highland Land Struggle. The islands are also a great location to spot seabirds, raptors and a number of migratory species. Informative and inspiring, Richard Barrett's guidebook is an ideal companion to discovering this captivating route.

    Solitary

    Albert Woodfox

Woodfox was the subject of a major New Yorker profile by Rachel Aviv in January 2017, almost a year after his release from prison in February 2016, and featured in the documentary Cruel and Unusual about the Angola 3. Many individual journalists have doggedly followed his story throughout the years, from national publications like the New York Times and the Guardian to the local Louisiana Times-Picayune . His story will shine a bright light on the inhumanity of solitary confinement and be championed by those fighting to abolish it. The book will also appeal to today’s generation of activists—including members of the #BlackLivesMatter movement—who are fighting against related issues, including police brutality and the mass incarceration of Black people. Solitary will also help to recast the Black Panther movement: it was primarily socially activist as opposed to militant. Woodfox’s sense of purpose and ability to survive in solitary derived directly from his adherence to the principles and lessons of the Panthers: unity, courage, and pride. Woodfox has the support of many major political figures, activists, journalists, and even actors who have helped to spread his story widely up to and after his release from prison in 2016. He has spoken at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, University of Illinois, University of Pittsburgh, and many others. Woodfox recently returned from speaking engagements in Europe on behalf of Amnesty International and will be touring extensively in the United States. We will be pursuing the support of key writers and activists, including Bryan Stevenson, Michelle Alexander, Carol Anderson, and others.

    Scatterbrain

    Henning Beck

Henning Beck is an engaging public speaker and champion Science Slammer in Germany. Here is a link to a popular TEDx talk he did on how the brain creates ideas https://youtu.be/oJfFMoAgbv8 In Scatterbrain, he explains how the flaws and mistakes of our brains, are actually our secret weapons, enabling us to think more creatively.  He also says our brains are  better  than computers or AI. AI may be able to outperform humans in playing games or recognizing faces – but we're able to invent new games or rules. Beck is working with a speakers agency to secure talks at conferences and with businesses in the US.

    Voice of Rebellion

    Roberta Staley

The first-ever biography of Mozhdah Jamalzadah: refugee, pop singer, and champion of women’s rights. Many have tried to silence her, but Mozhdah Jamalzadah remains the most powerful female voice of her generation in Afghanistan, boldly speaking out about women’s rights. Voice of Rebellion charts her incredible journey, including arriving in Canada as a child refugee, setting her father’s protest poem to music (and making it a #1 hit), performing that song for Michelle and Barack Obama, and, finally, being invited to host her own show in Afghanistan. The Mozhdah Show earned her the nickname “The Oprah of Afghanistan” and tackled taboo subjects like divorce and domestic violence for the first time in the country’s history. But even as her words resonated with women and families, Mozhdah received angry death threats—some of them serious—and was eventually advised to return to Canada. Traversing Central Asia and North America, Voice of Rebellion profiles a devoted singer and activist who continues to fight for change, even from afar.
