Karin Stiller, geboren 1957 in Darmstadt, lebt seit 1988 im Frankfurter Nordend und hat zwei erwachsene Kinder. Sie hat schon einiges veröffentlicht, im Rahmen von Sachbüchern, Artikeln und Blogs. Neben ihrer Autorentätigkeit arbeitet sie als Unternehmensberaterin, Dozentin und Coach für Softskills. Story-Telling, Rollenspiele und szenische Darstellung gehören mit zu ihrem Handwerk. WINKELSEE ist ihr Romandebüt. Die Sage um den tollkühnen Meisterschützen Hans Winkelsee – die heute noch jedem Schulkind in Frankfurt erzählt wird – inspirierte Karin Stiller zusammen mit der Historikerin und Journalistin Claudia Ludwig zunächst zu einem Film-Drehbuch. Aus diesem entstand der Roman gleichen Namens.
Claudia Ludwig, geboren 1960 in Darmstadt, ist Historikerin und Journalistin, hat mehrere Sachbücher veröffentlicht und lebt mit ihrer Familie in einem Frankfurter Vorort.
Demokratie und Sozialismus und Freiheit
Die Arbeit hat das politische Denken und Handeln der Bürgerrechtsbewegung in der späten DDR zum Gegenstand. Sie untersucht gesellschaftliche Problemdeutungen, Erwartungshaltungen und Zielvorstellungen einiger ihrer zentralen Akteure im Revolutionsjahr 1989/90. So wird etwa im gescheiterten Verfassungsentwurf des Runden Tisches und in der Parole „Wir sind das Volk!“ ein von der Bundesrepublik grundlegend abweichendes Verständnis darüber deutlich, was Gesellschaft sein solle und Staat zu leisten habe. Die DDR-Bürgerrechtsbewegung folgte einem direkt-demokratischen Konzept, das den angeblichen „Willen des Volkes“ unmittelbar zum Ausdruck bringen und dem Individuum als „freiem Menschen“ in einer reformierten DDR eine Stimme geben sollte. Mit dieser Perspektive trägt die Arbeit auch dazu bei, die bis heute in Ostdeutschland weit verbreitete Skepsis eines nicht geringen Teils der ehemaligen DDR-Bevölkerung über den 1990 eingeschlagenen Weg in die liberale Demokratie zu deuten.
