Schließlich wird er freigekauft, kehrt nach Liverpool zurück, wo er zahlreiche Verehrerinnen in der Damenwelt findet, lässt sich jedoch von den Verlockungen des süßen Lebens nicht beirren und sticht wieder in See… Diese Zusammenfassung beschreibt nur einen kleinen Teil der kurzweiligen und spannenden Abenteuer, die der Kaperschiffer in seinen langen Jahren auf See erlebt hat – erzählt von einem Meister der Seefahrerliteratur, der diese aufregende Welt in seinen eigenen Seefahrerjahren so gut kennengelernt hat wie seine Westentasche!
