Życie Johna Rowlanda od lat było dość proste i na swój sposób pozbawione trosk: harował jak wół jako marynarz na statkach pasażerskich, a całość mizernej wypłaty wydawał na podstawowe potrzeby: odzież, jedzenie, no i oczywiście whisky. Wszystko to zmieni się, gdy na pokładzie Tytana – najwspanialszego i największego statku, jaki kiedykolwiek zbudowano – spotka kobietę ze swojej przeszłości, kobietę, która przewróciła jego świat do góry nogami i jest w stanie zrobić to jeszcze raz. Jednak stare znajomości, o których wolałby zapomnieć, okażą się najmniejszymi z jego zmartwień. W plan rejsu wpisze się też intryga, dramaty i solidna dawka mocnych wrażeń. Prorocza książka Morgana Robertsona może wydawać się inspirowana tragedią Titanica, lecz pomimo zastraszających podobieństw do prawdziwych wydarzeń, została napisana lata przed rozpoczęciem konstrukcji słynnego statku. Jednak UPADEK TYTANA to nie tylko niesamowite spojrzenie w przyszłość z końca dziewiętnastego wieku, ale też opowieść pełna grozy i zwrotów akcji, trzymająca w napięciu aż do samego końca. Po raz pierwszy wydana po polsku, książka zawiera także dwa krótkie opowiadania dzieła Robertsona: POZA SPEKTRUM, napisane w roku 1914, opisuje konflikt pomiędzy Ameryką a Japonią, niemalże przewidując wydarzenia na Pacyfiku podczas drugiej wojny światowej. Jest to intrygująca opowieść z lekką nutą science-fiction, skupiająca się na działaniach młodego oficera, który opuścił marynarkę wojenną, by zostać lekarzem, lecz wrócił gdy wojna stała się nieunikniona. Natomiast W DOLINIE CIENIA to bardziej osobista historia, fascynujący thriller z romansem w tle, którego akcja toczy się niemal całkowicie na pokładzie zanurzonego okrętu podwodnego.
