      She swallowed hard. “Really good.”

      Royce reached out his hand, wrapped it gently around her arm. His skin was very warm and she could feel the transfer of heat. “It’s going to be fine,” he said. “I will not let anything happen to you.”

She needs to be in Vegas for a reason that has nothing to do with business and everything to do with unraveling secrets that her mother took to her grave more than fifteen years earlier.
