To my mother, Azaniah, I am still

alive today and preaching the gospel of

      Jesus Christ because God answered

      your prayers.

The last chapter of this book titled

“The Journey” is dedicated to you.

      Preface

I have written this book to share, with the body of Christ, the secret to living the blessed lifestyle and to reveal the mystery behind Biblical Covenant, Inheritance and Giving. Giving is one of the subjects or principles in the bible which the Church is yet to fully grasp. I have dealt extensively with the subject of giving in the First Edition and I recommend that you read this book together with it. Because of the many conflicting theories on the subject of giving and because the subject is not preached in conjunction with biblical covenant and inheritance, I felt it necessary to address giving from a covenant perspective in this edition also.

You will find, as you read further, that there are some words or phrases that have been underlined. I did so for special emphasis and for easy references. As in the first edition, I have mainly used the New King James bible version for the scriptures, unless otherwise stated, and have also incorporated the AMPC bible version, which is known as the Amplified Classic Edition.

In this book, you will learn that you do not have to do anything to be blessed, you are already blessed (Galatians 3:13, Ephesians 1:3). You do not have to do anything to be rich, you are already rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). You do not have to do anything to be healed, you are already healed (1 Peter 2:24). You do not have to perform for God to give you anything, all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21).

This is the essence of the gospel of Christ. This is the good news!

When God gave us His son, He gave us everything. The Kingdom of God Lifestyle, which in this book I call “The Blessed Lifestyle”, begins and ends with Jesus. If you and I can receive and understand this, we can live the blessed lifestyle every day, because our hearts will be established. We will not be moved by bad news or the many circumstances of this world.

I am a lawyer by profession. I believe that my training and experience as a lawyer has contributed significantly to my understanding of Biblical Covenant and Inheritance. My career is about unpacking the law to my clients and to the Courts. If a client comes with a problem, my job as lawyer is to find the law relevant to my client’s problem and then unpack it in a language that the client will understand. The same applies with the Court. When I appear before a Judge to present my client’s case, I have to refer the Judge to the law and show him or her how it is applicable to my case. This must be done in a manner that the Judge will easily understand. If the case is presented properly, my day in Court becomes pleasant. On the other hand, if my case is not presented clear enough, the Court will not be inclined to help us. This is the approach that I have adopted in writing this book. I present my case with simplicity and understanding.

I recently had a conversation with the best friend and mentor of my spiritual father, author and great speaker Dr Moss Mashamaite, after preaching on stewardship in one of the branches of our Church. He said to me, “Pastor Kenny, you preach about a lot of things which we have never heard of and the fact that you are a lawyer makes it very difficult for anyone to argue with you.” At that moment, it hit me that God made me a lawyer for such a time as this. I believe that I was born to write and preach about the message in this book. I make a case that Jesus Christ is the source of life and the end of our toiling. Everything I say is based on the unquestionable word of

      God as the final authority.

This book, is about the Law of Succession (inheritance), as contained in the scriptures. It reveals the wishes of the Testator (Jesus), so that the beneficiary (the Church) can take possession of the estate (the inheritance). This book is not based on an opinion but on the truth of the word of God.

Throughout the pages of this book, I contrast the Old and the New Testament and show you the difference between the two. God has given us His Son, Jesus and built the New Testament around Him. On the other hand, God gave the children of Israel the law and built the Old Testament around it. That is why the bible says that the law was given, but grace came (John 1:17). Many Believers think that they know what the New Testament is, because somewhere in the middle of the bible, there is a page after Malachi that is written “NEW TESTAMENT.” Unfortunately, this division has brought a lot of confusion to a lot of people. Many people will fight against the content of this book because of that unfortunate division. I submit that not everything in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is necessarily the New Testament.

I think it is necessary that I settle this issue, once and for all, immediately, before we go into the content of the book. We will allow the bible to tell us what the New Testament is by referring to the book of Hebrews.

      Hebrews 9:16-18

“For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the Testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the Testator lives. Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood.”

Many people take everything that Jesus said in the gospels as the New Testament, without understanding that the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are made up of a mixture of law and grace. To interpret what the New Testament is, from the four gospels, we need a Lawyer and that lawyer is the Holy Spirit (John 14:26 AMP). Besides this, we cannot call these books the New Testament because Jesus was alive at that time and based on Hebrews 9:16-18, a testament only comes into effect when the Testator has died.

I admit that everything that Jesus said and did in the gospel was a reflection and presentation of the New Testament, but not when taken plainly without revelation. For example, when Jesus replied to the rich young ruler in Mark 10:19 and said, “You know the commandments…” and the rich young ruler answered, in verse 20 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” Jesus did not by any means mean that anyone can inherit eternal life by keeping the Ten Commandments, but reading the conversation plainly and out of context can attract a wrong interpretation. The point I’m making here is that, notwithstanding the fact that Jesus pointed the rich young ruler to the Ten Commandments, keeping the commandments is not the New Testament. When Jesus was born, He lived under the law, although He was the revelation of the grace of God. Galatians 4:4-5 says that “when the fullness of
