History of the Reformation
This history of the Reformation has been written with the intention of describing a great religious movement amid its social environment. A History of the Reformation, in the author's opinion, must describe five distinct but related things – the social and religious conditions of the age out of which the great movement came; the Lutheran Reformation down to 1555, when it received legal recognition; the Reformation in countries beyond Germany which did not submit to the guidance of Luther; the issue of certain portions of the religious life of the Middle Ages in Anabaptism, Socinianism, and Anti-Trinitarianism; and, finally, the Counter-Reformation. The first volume describes the eve of the Reformation and the movement itself under the guidance of Luther, while in the second volume the author deals with the Reformation beyond Germany, with Anabaptism, Socinianism, and kindred matters which had their roots far back in the Middle Ages, and with the Counter-Reformation in the sixteenth century.

On Christmas Eve a snowstorm rages and a train gets stuck in the impossible snow that won't let up. A group of disoriented travelers, somewhat unwisely, abandon their stranded train and stumble upon a deserted house. The house, standing as though waiting for the travellers, feels slightly sinister. Cut off in the snow, with no way of making contact with anyone, the group have to make the best of things – while feeling more than a little uncomfortable about making themselves at home.
Sirius (Sci-Fi Novel)
Sirius is a dog with humanlike intelligence. He is raised by scientist Thomas Trelone in North Wales, near Trawsfynydd. Thomas embarks on a program of using steroids and other chemicals to rapidly develop cognitive power of dogs, resulting in super sheep dogs. Sirius, however, proves to possess a dog intelligence comparable to a normal human being, as he is able to communicate with English words, although it takes some time for the humans to understand his canine pronunciation. He is born at the same time as his creator's human daughter, Plaxy, and the two of them are raised together as brother and sister. When Plaxy leaves for school they drift apart and troubles for Sirius begin. With human intelligence and emotion he declines to lead a life of a regular dog and he tends to develop as a person, but keeps running into obstacles.

The Constitutional History of England
The Constitutional History of England, from Henry VII to George II is a three volume work concerning political history of England. The work deals with major institutional features of society: the feudal system, the ecclesiastical system, and the political system of England, portraying society, commerce, manners, and literature. The author covers the period from late 15th to mid-18th century, namely from the accession of Henry VII, carrying it down to the accession of George III, stopping here because he was unwilling to touch on issues of contemporary politics.

Aristoteles (384 v. Chr. – 322 v. Chr.) gehört zu den bekanntesten und einflussreichsten Philosophen der Geschichte. Ziel dieses Werkes ist es, einen Leitfaden zu geben, um zu erlernen, wie man ein guter Mensch wird und wie man ein glückliches Leben führt. Da hierfür der Begriff des Handelns zentral ist, ist bereits im ersten Satz davon die Rede: «Jedes praktische Können und jede wissenschaftliche Untersuchung, ebenso alles Handeln und Wählen, strebt nach einem Gut, wie allgemein angenommen wird.» Ein Gut kann dabei entweder nur dazu da sein, ein weiteres Gut zu befördern (es wird dann zu den poietischen Handlungen gezählt), oder es kann ein anderes Gut befördern und gleichzeitig «um seiner selbst willen erstrebt werden» (es hat dann praktischen Charakter), oder aber es kann als höchstes Gut das Endziel allen Handelns darstellen (= absolute praxis). Dadurch wird das Werk durch die Frage bestimmt, wie das höchste Gut, oder auch das höchste Ziel, beschaffen und wie es zu erreichen ist.

Jurgen, A Comedy of Justice is a fantasy novel by American writer James Branch Cabell, which gained fame (or notoriety) shortly after its publication in 1919. It is a humorous romp through a medieval cosmos, including a send-up of Arthurian legend, and excursions to Heaven and Hell as in The Divine Comedy. Cabell's work is recognized as a landmark in the creation of the comic fantasy novel, influencing Terry Pratchett and many others. Due to its theme it became a celebrated obscenity case shortly after its publication. The eponymous hero, who considers himself a «monstrous clever fellow», embarks on a journey through ever more fantastic realms, even to hell and heaven. Everywhere he goes, he winds up seducing the local women, even the Devil's wife!
