This magnificent “mansion” built in 1762–66 by and for the Lutheran Church of Geneva on the foundations of the Château d’Allinges-Coudrée stands elegantly at the bottom of the Place du Bourg-de-Four. Worthy of attention, its history is of great interest in terms of culture, philosophy and politics, but also for the details of its construction, structure and development. As early as 1921 the building was classified as a historical monument by Geneva’s Council of State (Conseil d’État).
Die Lutherische Kirche in Genf
Dieses wunderschöne «Herrenhaus», das 1762–1766 für die Lutherische Kirche in Genf auf den Fundamenten des Château d’Allinges-Coudrée errichtet wurde, erhebt sich elegant am unteren Ende des Place du Bourg-de-Four. Es verdient unsere volle Aufmerksamkeit. Es hat eine besonders interessante Geschichte, sowohl aus einer kulturell-philosophisch-religiös-politischen Perspektive als auch hinsichtlich seiner baulichen Struktur und Inneneinrichtung. Schon 1921 wurde das Gebäude von der Genfer Regierung unter Denkmalschutz gestellt!
L'Église luthérienne de Genève
Cette magnifique « maison de maître », qui a été édifiée en 1762-1766 par et pour l’Eglise luthérienne de Genève sur les fondations du château d’Allinges-Coudrée, se dresse élégamment au bas de la place du Bourg-de-Four. Elle mérite toute notre considération et toute notre attention. Son histoire est particulièrement intéressante, tant du point de vue cultu(r))el, philosophique, politique que de celui de sa construction, de sa structure et de son aménagement. Le bâtiment a été classé monument historique par le Conseil d’Etat de Genève en 1921 déjà !
