A Journey Toward Hope is a collaboration with Baylor University’s Social Innovation Collaborative program. Baylor’s communications and public relations offices will be coordinating publicity and media campaigns for Dr. Hinojosa. The illustrator, Susan Guevara, is the award-winning illustrator of Chato's Kitchen by Gary Soto, and more than 20 other books for children. She aims to portray the characters with «the utmost dignity and purpose and humanity that they so richly deserve.»
